Susan and I will be at I-40 this week end and provide services for those that want to attend on Sunday morning.
Both regular service and children's service will be available. Look forward to seeing some familiar and new faces once again.
Time and place will be announced at track.

09/29/2008 4:50 PM Alert

Would like to thank the staff and management at I-40 Dragway for making us feel at home this week-end.
The entire HOWE family is a class act!

Also want to thank ALL those in attendance at church service with a good number in both children's church and the regular service.

It was nice to see and chat with some new and old friends.

If you have never been to one of their bounty races I would invite you to check it out at some future date.

The Lynch Mob made their usual stellar performance for the fans. AWESOME anywhere they show up in showmanship and performance. Their car after the brush with the wall at Huntsville looks great with a new flat black covering.

The Rainwater Racing Team was, it seems, plagued from the time they left their test and tune session at another track on Friday night.

Their rig broke down in Chattanooga and left them stuck along side the interstate for something like 7-8 hours while on their way to the event. Finally they rolled into the track at I-40 with the rig huffing like a screw blower. Being the Class folks they are instead of just saying they were too battled to race they quickly unloaded their ride and went straight to the lanes against Team Lynch for the first of best outa five passes. Tim won the round as Ken peddeled in and out. Insult to injury the tow vehicle for Ken was not performing as expected so track security towed them back to their pit. That as it turned out was the only pass on Friday night as the track management called the event until Sunday as a matter of time. On Sunday after a lane swapping pass by Ken and a convertor change they lined up once again and then the last and ultimate proverbial straw hit the Rainwater Team. On what appeared to be a good run at first both teams were off and then disaster struck, a severe  engine failure. Please remember them in your thoughts this week as they have tremendous amount of work to accomplish. I am certain they will be back in action soon as good or better!

Thanks Jim, we definately had a terrible weekend you pretty much summed up exactly what happened. Thanks for your support. Sometimes we have to wonder if the Big Man upstairs is trying to tell us something when every thing, and I do mean everything, goes wrong. All things happen for a reason, even though we may not understand what that reason is at the time.

I want to thank Jim Howe for being so patient and working with us, we tried to put on a good show for the fans it just didn't turn out like we wanted. The fans and track personel at I-40 dragway were awesome, I hope we will be able to go back soon.

Angela, good luck getting that beast fixed. I know S GA was not kind to you either and I hate to see one team have so much trouble in such a short period of time. Hope to see you guys in Montgomery next weekend!
