I would like to hear an official answer on this one too.

I am by no means a rule maker nor am I the tech guy but from the picture, it looks like it "should" be legal to me.  You might try posting or hosting a little larger and more detailed photo of the actual bars in question.  I can just barely see the way the bars are grafted in but it looks as though the complete floor is still there with the exception of where the bars are located and that is all welded to the bars.  It is pretty hard to get those floor bars in a Mustang with the stock pan as I am sure you know.  The chassis shop that did mine put them under the stock floor.  I have also seen them on top of the floor pan too but that can get in the drivers way with a stock pan.  I had an Outlaw car that had the steel floor pan under the driver grafted into the floor bars.  This did raise a few eyebrows even though it was welded the entire run on every piece.  This car was built by a chassis shop and a Pro-Mod racer that built it as his personal Outlaw 10.5 car so it was a really nice ride.  This infraction was in FFW and the rules stated that this piece was to be a single steel plate under the driver so I don't know if this may come into the decision in your situation either.  I think that this rule really applies to any car that has had the complete floor removed and replaced so your situation will be more concerned with the stock floor pan rule.  Basically your cage is overbuilt frame connectors.....right?    The rules allow for notching for frame connectors so you should be good.

hell yeah that cage is legal! Shit, a conventional 10 point cage is legal, so you should get a pat on the back for that one. It also appears the steering column is legal this year, even though the only car held to the rule last year was Alan Kennedy

I can't see any reason why that cage shouldn't be legal. The stock trunk pan in this class is stupid (my opinion of course) That looks like Mike Freedmons car built by Skinny Kid Race Cars. Are you the new owner of the car?

Tom, I just recently built a 25.2 chassis in a 94 Mustang maintaining the stock floor. The stock pan is notched for all the floor bars. The customer is planning on running the full EZ street schedule with the car next year. At the end of the day, as long as your car is stock suspension, I don't see why anyone would have a problem with your cage. After all, it is a safety concern on your behalf. I wish I knew how to post pics on here to show you how the floor was notched.

The green coupe at the Huntsville race had bars like that and he passed "tech".

Honestly, as big of a joke as EZ street Tech is, I wouldn't worry about it for a second. Just carpet over them and keep on truckin'
