Encountering problem after problem starting with having to tear the top end down and put it back before qualifying, well we missed the first round, but made second thanks to my son Justin and Doug Holloway that had grease from head to toe all weekend. Then we entered the 5.0 all out and with Justin and Dougs tune up we went 4.71 and won quickest ET, thanks for the opportunity John Fore. First time I got to run the car faster than 5.0, sorry you had to be beside me Deranney, LOL. Then we ran Lester, great guy, and broke an input shaft. So back to the grease 2:00 am torque converter to tight on flex plate Sunday determined to be in the race came up with shimming trans, so back at it. Special thanks to John Smith who went above and beyond, Kenny at PTC, and Fat Daddy who showed us dummies how to keep the torque converter in the trans, simple coat hanger saved hours. Thanks Harvey (STP) for all the advice and Kenny Acree and Mike Herring for all the tools and stuff we didn't have. Can't say enough about how great 5.0 guys are. Thanks |
