Has anyone read the top story on nhra.com tonight?  They are shortening the length of the TF & FC runs starting in Denver to 1000'....

I told ya so.  You will soon see many santioned racing bodies now going to a 1/8th mile format. Still great racing. Cheaper on the teams and safer all around.
Their is a reason you don't see many grandstands even at national event tracks go further than past the 1/8th mile

The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt
the person doing it."

In NHRA racing I think PS,PM,PSMand all the sportsman class's will stay 1/4 for now.
IHRA,Well who know's if they will be open for business in 2009,i think Bill Bader will buy it back for 20 cents on the dollar, and then build it back up again.
Evan Knoll has hurt IHRA Bad.

I really don't see what is so sacred about the quater mile.  Didn't drag racing start out in the half mile and they went to the quarter because it was too fast?  Seems like a natural progression to me.

Hey maybe some of you old farts like Ronnie actually raced in the 1/2. JK RD.

I have never heard of 1/2 mile real drag racing.
On the back roads in Alabama we ran a mile from a dead stop.
