Any of the true radial tires available are pretty much legal with the exception of the 295 and 315 if I read the rules correctly. Both M/T and Hoosier make something smaller than the 325 that should fit your car (275) but I if you want to really compete in the class, I would suggest making the changes to the car to hold the biggest tire they do allow.(325) If you just want to race at a "local" ORSCA event or something like that, the smaller tire might be an option.
Most racers are using either M/T or Hoosier 325's but there are others that make these tires too. I ran the 315 M/T on my old car at one race and it almost ran as good as it did with slicks. I feel that we could have come close to matching our best with some testing. The car had gone 1.17 on slicks and went 1.21 on radials without changing anything. I was impressed to say the least but to run with most of the EZ Street guys, you better be on top of your game in this class. These guys are flying with whatever tire they are limited to. |
