As I said I the drivers meeting at SGMP I would like to see if a Saturday race would work and be beneficial to both ORSCA and you the racers.
Here is what I propose.
Must be registered ORSCA member (either per race or season) Must be ORSCA legal and entered into Sunday's race (in the same class)
Qualifying will be reduced to 2 rounds.
Saturday's race will be run on a sportsman ladder Sunday's race will remain as is. This is to eliminate duplicate race.
No contingency money or points awarded for Sat race
$ 50 Entry
$ 1000 Win $ 200 R/Up $ 50 Semis
If 33 or more cars in the class will pay r/up $300 and semis $100.
This race is totally optional but we must agree that even if you don't enter the Saturday race you will still only get 2 qualifying shots.
Again this is a trial deal based on things I have heard from both ORSCA and Non ORSCA racers.
YOUR INPUT IS IMPORTANT HERE.......YOU WILL DECIDE IF WE DO THIS OR NOT & WHETHER OR NOT IT BECOMES A PERMANENT THING.
If you need freshening up on sportsman ladders read this link.

I like the idea. This would give us a chance to run for more money and also be somewhat of a "practice" race for everyone. This is the chance for racers to speak up and allow themselves to run for more money at each evet. Thanks Wade for expanding your mind and trying to come up with new ways to help us racers out. I hope it catches on and there are good turns outs for the rest of the ORSCA schedule.

I think this would be good deal for all index racers. 3rd round qualifying is good for breaking out most of the time. $50 for $1000 sounds good to me. Kenny

This sounds like a great idea. IHRA has been doing this with the divisional races for a while now. Count us in.

They guys are right, this would be a good way for the racers to earn a little more money for the weekend. Everyone is already there, same fuel bill, same hotel bill, just a couple of more rounds and a chance to win some money. Hopefully it would give the spectators who do come out on Saturday a little more to watch. I know you will do what is best for O.R.S.C.A. but is sounds like something you might want to try.

Wade, Good Idea on the Bonus Race for Sat. Night! If you can make it happen, our shop, Performance Specialties Inc., will put up $100 ea. for 5.0 / 6.0 / 7.0 for a BEST PACKAGE JACKPOT. This will not affect the ORSCA qualifying for those valuable POINTS, as this uses R.T. in the equation. If you go red, you can't win the pot. If the racers want to ante-up $10 or so, it could be worth a couple hundred bucks or more. Ruby Bell won $400+ the last time we did this at Huntsville! The winners in each class could be #1 qualifiers on your sportsman ladder. 'Just tryin' to help. Rick Pennington cell 205-283-0943
