Driving the Mustang normally piloted by Jeff Cooner, Ken Rainwater edged John Ianuzzi for the $5,000 top price.Ianuzzi ran a stout 5.02 coupled with a .458 reaction time to just trail Rainwater's 155 mph charge across the finish line. Rainwater's turbo exhaust played havoc on the starting line beams several times this weekend and resulted in erroneus ET's on several occassions, including the final.
5.30 class final was also a nail biter as Jeremy Ellis 4.142 initiated 5.3076 was enough to hold off Kenny Acree's 5.3002. Acree's reaction time was a .4488.
6.0 was Jerry Carnley winning with a 6.0079 over a too quick Wesley Kelly. Kelly had a .416 to .435 reaction time advantage but broke out with a 5.9959
Josh Mackey won his 3rd straight 7.0 race at Phenix City after qualifying # 1 Saturday night with a perfect 7.0000 and .409 light. He carried it over to Sunday and ousted Rusty Abernathy in a double breakout 6.9507 to a quicker but losing 6.193. Josh had a .4482 to a .4808 starting line advantage.

It looked like Billy's rear end locked up and he tapped the wall.Fender was dented but I don't believe any structural damage except to his wallet.
