This past weekend we went up to Virginia Motorsports Park to run on an episode of PINKS for season four. We were paired up with Shawn Barney from New York in his 60 Falcon (tube chassis race car). In the first race Jon was allowed one stage and Shawn was given four cars. Jon beat him by like 3 cars. The second race shawn commented that he wasn't going to race Jon on nitrous any more "He's a legend in Nitrous Racing". So we raced him on motor and beat him by a fender. Then for the third race he wanted a two car head start (in the race before we went heads-up and we beat him by a fender so we thought that was too much) we ended up giving him 1 1/2 cars. On that pass the car started to stumble at about half track (more on this later) and we beet him by like 2 1/2 cars. When we got back to the starting line Shawn wouldn't even shake our hand and walked away, they had to yell to him to get him to come back to finish the filming. Before the race he told one of the guys on our team that "WHEN" he won Jon's car he was going to remove the doors and make a dog house for his dogs. After we got the car back to the hotel Jon pulled the plugs and found that one the plugs had welded the ground to the tip after looking at the nitrous kit they tried to install the day of the race (the fuel lines were never hooked up) we found that at some point between the first race and the third race they plugged the wires back in so we think the stumble was him trying to dry-shoot the nitrous and that's when it welded the plug. Anyone looking for 60 Falcon tube-chassis race car????????? I know where one is for sale!!!!!
Congrats to Jon & Regina you guys put together a great team that was respectable and we went out and ran full throttle without any sandbagging games and won. Jon drove one hell of a race and kept his cool the whole time.
PS-There was a comment that I liked the best "You guys were John Force of PINKS" that comment was reffering to the crew looking very professional and dominating the race.
