Local grudge racer Steve Jackson brought out his Procharger equipped Mustang to take on the ORSCA EZ Street regulars and proved victorious. His 5.03 qualifying shot was quicker than the current record and led the rest of the field by nearly a tenth. Jackson was unable to back it up for the record but did run as quick as 5.10 in eliminations. In the final, Terry Elam redlighted away any hope of upsetting Jackson. Atlanta finalist Tracy Shores lost to Jackson in the semi-finals and Dustin Mewbourn had a rare redlight start againest Elam.

Reigning ORSCA 5.30 Champ Jeremy Ellis finally made the step up to 5.00 a successsful one with a near dominating performance. Jeremy qualified #1 with a 5.002 and twice ran 5.009 in eliminations. In the final he used a .006 initiated 5.02 to defeat Vernon Russell's 5.043. Bick Bickerstaff equaled the 5.009 of Ellis in their semi-final match up, but lost via the .027 to .047 holeshot. Mike Ghee was the other semi-finalist.

Former Dutton Grading 6.0 World Champion Michael Strickland returned to his winning ways in Carolina with a 6.008 to 6.017 win over Bo Conner. Strickland used a holeshot to defeat David Harvey to reach the finals while Conner bested Will Coots.

 Atlanta Speed Shop 7.0 saw several former winners and champions bow out in the earlier rounds but that didn't faze Atlanta runner-up David Brand. Brand did one better by defeating Atlanta winner Brock Taylor in the semis and Andy Schaefer in the finals. Schaefer defeated Pete Nelson before falling to Brand and his beautiful 68 Camaro.
